The most challenging obstacle that Peter came across was around the one month mark, when he thought he was ‘cured’ of his smoking addiction. He has advised people trying to quit to finish the entire course of patches and to not even consider trying even one cigarette as this is what stopped him from quitting previously. Peter has unfortunately had a relapse since beginning his quit attempt, admitting to the occasional cigar, but he has vowed to have another attempt at becoming completely smoke-free.
Peter’s story tells us that he has tried and he hasn’t given up. If you have tried and relapsed there are a number of different options to help you quit. Take the first step by filling out our form on our home page and allowing someone from NHS Stop Smoking Wales to get in contact with you and talk through your options.
